River trekking anyone ?

Everytime i invite folks for river trekking, they inevitably ask me how much ? huh ? it`s free lah. duh. we just trek along a gusty river until we reach a lovely waterfall. Location : Kuala Kubu Baru. The river : Sg Chiling. Good fun. These are my pals who went the last round. I`m the one with the bandage on my knee. Prevention is better than cure. The 2nd pic was taken at the Dam area otw to the waterfall.

Thy name is Venus

This is the most famous carnivorous plant in the world.....the Venus Flytrap. Originally from the swamps in US, it`s now happily growing & multiplying in my house @ Puchong. It`s a very effective fly catcher. Never fails to fascinate me as it`s fly trapping techniques are a joy & wonder to watch. Requires full sun & damp conditions. Capable of shooting up stalks of white flowers in Spring time ( in our climate, it gets confused & flowers whenever it feels like it )

My name is Chico

My relationship with this canine started in 1997 when I went over to a friend`s house & chose him from a litter of puppies. Why did I pick him ? He was the only one who had the social grace to come over & give me a lick. Once when I went plant hunting in a jungle, Chico came along. Bear in mind, he`s only about a foot long & not a very agile dog. Anyways, I had to swim across a small lake & climb a tree in the middle of it to go after a plant I wanted. Chico waited by the side of the lake. When I reached the tree, in my wet state, I slipped & fell backwards into the lake. There was a big splash. I managed to climb back onto the tree & then I heard another small splash coming from the side of the lake. It was Chico to the rescue !!! My little dog which has never even been to a swimming lesson before in his then 2 years of living was actually trying his best to rescue me. I could see him doing his little dog paddle strokes across the lake. As he wasn`t used to being in the water, he sunk a couple of times before reaching me. I grabbed hold of him & the rescue operation was in reverse now. Haha. I`ll never forget what he tried to do that day. He`s a ripe old age of 8 dog years now. Eyesight is fading & his ears have an internal problem which can`t be operated on as he is considered too old. Whatever it is, I know I`ll cherish him for as long as I am allowed to.

The Colour Purple

Whoopi Goldberg. U r one funnee lady. And that was one Fab movie. Fav scene: when she makes tea for her master & spits into it!

These are purple flowers currently in action on my garden. I used to have a theme for my flowers...you guessed it ! Purple ! but nowadays, i`m more into carnivorous plants so the purple flowers have taken a backseat. They survive on their own nowadays...a lil` love in the past goes a long way ? I dunno.

Fancy a 3-some ?

This is my current flowering airplant. The flowers are lovely and in my fav colour. I didn`t know that it can have 3 flower stalks at the same time but anyways, i ain`t complaining. The flowers will last for about a week, after that some new baby plants will appear. Whee. Btw, it`s a before & after picture.....bud stage & almost full bloom.

Negative Vibes

What do you feel when you see something like this ? Being a bit on the rebellious side, I always say 'What the.....?' when I see signages which prevent me from doing things.
It sort of goes against my personality coz I`m an open person. I welcome experiences and people into my life & cherish them. It`s not like me to say `Do not enter' or `Go away'.....unless you are a nasty piece of work. haha.
I`m getting some negative vibes from someone who used to be close to me. I do not enjoy being treated as if I`m invisible. My Sms` are not replied, emails are ignored. Awww, c`mon, grow up. You ain`t a kid anymore. Anyway, enjoy yourself in Penang, like you always have & always will. Don`t let religion or the fact that you were in a relationship stand in your way. Claims that you are honest or religious just doesn`t hold up to scrutiny. It`s like bringing a vampire out into the light, it fizzles out. Over & out.

Reflections....

Isn`t this lovely ? A building which reflects light via its glistening windows. A step further would be to have solar panels to provide environmentally-friendly power to light up the building. I love seeing technology being used for the betterment of mankind. To relate it to life as we know it.....do take time off to reflect on your own life. I hope we don`t get too busy with the daily rountines of living that we forget to enjoy ourselves while doing it. Do me a favor ? Stop yourself for 10 seconds & take a deep breath. Doesn`t that feel good ? Have a lovely weekend ahead.

What`s in your attic?

I wonder how many of our M`sian homes have attics ? This is from a friend`s work-in-progress self-renovation house. It`s eerie, dark, humid and that`s only what can be felt & seen. I imagine spiders or mebbe even a snake or 2 lurking about. Haha. My fertile imagination goes into overdrive. What would you hide in an attic like this ? Do you have an attic in your own life where personal experiences or painful memories are put away for storage ? Anyway, I fled downstairs after snapping this photo...My own attic of my life is filled with wonderful memories of childhood. I think I enjoyed it more than adult life but hey, isn`t that declaring that I`m better off not existing now ? I have to change my sense of reality then. Past good. Present also good. Future ? Good also I hope.

It was a good day........

I woke up early on Deepavali day. Yawn. Stretch. At 8 a.m., I was already busy in the kitchen preparing the ingredients for my world famous chicken pie...8 friends came over & I had to bake 3 large chicken pies. Timing was perfect. 1st one was ready by 10:30 a.m. I know I`m running the risk of being accused of patting my own back, but anyhow, it was scrumptious ! Popped the 2nd one into the turbo broiler & guess what.....my whole area experienced a power failure. Awww, man....Somehow, we managed with just one pie, lotsa dessert, a mocha cake ( brought over by a friend ).....and how-r-u-what-have-u-been-doings.......

Evening was spent visiting 2 friends who actually celebrated Deepavali ( unlike me ) and another supper appointment at Mc D`s to counsel a friend who had to nurse a broken heart. My head rested on my pillow @ home only at 2 a.m.

It was a day well spent......
