Skinfood at a discount

After reading TT`s blog about him using this brand, I chanced upon it at Guardian IOI Mall. It has quite an extensive range of products for the skin...all for the FAB price of rm6 each. They have wondergel scrubs, toners, moisturisers etc. I`ll try to balance up my skincare products. Hey, I can`t be using rm195 Aesop toners & then also buying rm6 scrubs rite ? But if the product works, I don`t mind. Btw, Aesop`s bitter orange astringent is difficult to use. I doubt the bottle can last for long & at that price, I don`t think I`ll get my 2nd bottle.

ET eyez

I wonder how much the Government spent on this street lights ? It reminds me of some alien ET eyez. Probably does its function of lighting up the street pretty well though.

Sunday morning.....

Despite turning in only at 3 a.m.after an excellent 1st time date, I still managed to yank meself outta bed to send my parents to chruch at 6:30 a.m. I had an appointment with an online orchid fan to go to the KL Orchid Park.....I wanted to get a slipper orchid there. The park was really quite sad, orchid specimens there were of the common variety & not many were flowering. But luckily, we managed to find our slipper orchids..It was cheaper than at Laman 2006 expo. I paid rm10 for mine & happily went back to report it.

Triplets ....

This particular wild orchid has been flowering since I got it 2 months ago. With an initial single stalk, it has added another 2, perhaps to show me that it`s happy being in my garden. I didn`t think the flower could last this long but it has. The other 3 colours I bought which is planted next to this orchid are not productive.

Some cds I`m currently listening to....

What a coincidence.......

I went to get my PGL tickets last Friday for the 16th August show at Istana Budaya. It`s really a cool place. Been there before for some of their flea markets & activities. Then today I went to get tickets for Pirates of the Caribbean show....it`s kinda freaky but it`s the same seat numbers ! Erm.....

Changes

Am in the midst of changing my skincare brand. I have used Metrin for 8 years & of late , it ain`t doing much for my skin anymore.

I`ve scouted around for a good affordable brand. Have tested Bodyshop ( no effect, too rough), Origins ( too mild, gives me the feeling that they`re using 2nd rate ingredients ), Cellnique ( ok, but the cleanser doesn`t really get rid of the oil )...and finally settled for Aesop....Amazing face cleanser ( that`s what they call it !) costs rm125, bitter orange astringent toner rm195 & Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum costs rm159....ouch ouch ouch. They have a lot of other products but I can`t afford to buy anymore at the moment so it`s back to the basics for the moment. Other attractive stuff in Aesop`s range is the scrub ( rm199 ) and B thriple C Facial Balancing Gel ( dunno the price )........

Ne-Yo...So Sick of love songs

Here`s 2 paragraphs of Ne-yo`s song....I`m NOT in the midst of a breakup or anything but if I wuz, this would be a way-appropriate song for it. Haha.

Mmmm mmm yeah
Do do do do do do do-do
Ohh Yeah

Gotta change my answering machine
Now that I'm alone
Cuz right now it says that we
Can't come to the phone
And I know it makes no sense
Cuz you walked out the door
But it's the only way I hear your voice anymore
(it's ridiculous)
It's been months
And for some reason I just
(can't get over us)
And I'm stronger than this
(enough is enough)
No more walkin round
With my head down
I'm so over being blue
Cryin over you

And I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishing you were still here
Said I'm so sick of love songs so sad and slow
So why can't I turn off the radio?

Gotta fix that calender I have
That's marked July 15th
Because since there's no more you
There's no more anniversary
I'm so fed up with my thoughts of you
And your memory
And how every song reminds me
Of what used to be

And I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishin' you were still here
Said I'm so sick of love songs so sad and slow
Why can't I turn off the radio?
(why can't I turn off the radio?)
Why can't I turn off the radio?

PGL the musical

I had some spare time during my lunch time yesterday after finishing some important work & meeting the deadline. Whew. So I decided to pamper meself a bit after the work pressure. Scouted around to see if I could buy PGL tickets online & found this website http://www.ticket2u.biz/
Yay.....after calling up a friend, I booked 2 tickets for 16th August 8:30 p.m. Still a lot of seats left. The musical at Istana Budaya is from 6th - 21st August 2006. Price of tickets are at rm30,rm50,rm70,rm100,rm150 & rm180. Tiara mentioned on Melodi that she & that Stephen Rahman Hughes chappie won`t be performing for the Sunday shows or something like the that so don`t go then.
I`m posting this blog at 8:12 a.m. in the office.....taa daaa.

Yawn

I left my house at 6:45 a.m. today, hoping to avoid the usual Monday morning crawl to work & well.....I did !
Reached office by 7:10 a.m. Swell. What a great way to start the week.
Early hours translates into quite a bit of petrol savings. I managed to save about 80km worth of petrol last week....which in ringgit would be about rm20.
That`s better than any engine treatment oil I`ve used so far.

The sale is ON !

Last Saturday morning, with a big yawn, I got up early to prepare meself for a short shopping spree at Mid Valley.
My wish list : 2 office shirts, 1 casual shirt, 3 pairs of socks, a leather belt. I estimated that if I reached Mid Valley at sharp 10 a.m., mission could be accomplished by 11 a.m. & I can avoid the traffic jam.
I parked my car at 10:05a.m. at a very good spot, meaning near the shops.
Went into FOS`s newest outlet there. They were having a 20% discount of normal priced items as it was opening day for the outlet. I managed to get ALL my wish list terms there ! Resisted a long sleeve light cotton GAP t-shirt which was marked down to rm19.90. It was the wrong size , otherwise it would have perfect for outstation driving.
But I still wanted another office shirt so I ran into G2000 & got it at 40% discount.
See what I mean by Grrrrreat sale ? At this rate, I don`t think I`d bother about going to S`pore for their sale anymore.
Total expenditure was...........RM151.93
I reached home by 11:30 a.m.
A life which can be lived by accurate planning is so lovely. Stress free.

Moodswings & all that jazz

Somebody accused me of having moodswings.
For the record, when a close friend does something irritating or inconsiderate, I might get pissed enuff to avoid that friend until I cool down. If not, that friend`s gonna get a horrible lecture from me which I think would be unfair as I don`t like speaking to people when I`m pissed as it would be anger coming out instead of sensible talk.
I thot I`ve explained this to that friend.
I guess you are clueless as to what inconsiderate thing you did ?
I`m not surprised.
I was more than happy to overlook your character flaws ( do I need to list them out ? ), hoping that you`ll overlook mine.
But after that pretty rude sms you sent.....let`s say that it was just sad lah.
Being very good at apologising doesn`t mean that people will ALWAYS forgive you.
Anyways, whatever it is, please return the DVD you borrowed from me pronto.

Golden kiwis....

My current fav imported fruit. Pasar malams sell it at either 5,6 or 7 fruits for rm10, depending on the size I guess. Almost guaranteed sweet. This week`s Sri Petaling pasar malam had no stock of it. Let`s see if I`m rajin enuff to go look elsewhere.

Dancing Plant ! ( Desmodium Motorius )

The friend swears that it dances to music...he stay in Kuching so the demo was via his camera video recording when he came over. Ok lah, it m-o-v-e-s lah. Doesn`t groove though. Originated from China.

Andy : seen it before ?

Read my mind....that Superman song....

Caught the show at IOI Mall....quite nice, not fabulous though. The highlight of the show was the updated theme song which was played at several crucial moments during the movie. Recommended watching.

Door gifts.....

Some of which I could do without.....like that plastic photo frame. Hmmm.....also got nescafe, a ZA whitening mask, essence whatever, body sculpting gel( whoa ! ).....

Dayang on Stage

These are the clearest shots I could get of Dayang. Nite photography & unsteady hands & distance ( zoom function is limited ) gets in the way.
She started the session with Whitney Houston`s ` Where do broken hearts go`, awesome awesome vocals. My friends who knew ALL her songs sang along but said that it was over-long....2 45-minute sessions. I prefer her singing English ballads, her cover of `Hips don`t lie` was only so-so, coz her back-up singer outsang her. Haw Haw.
Acis was on keyboards. That fella smokes. A person with a kid & family should take better care of himself. Nuff said.

Planet Hollywood

Went to Planet for a reason...other than makan I mean.....while waiting for the `event`, got bored & snapped some photos. I KNOW you all have been there before but well......

Some nice landscaping photos from Laman 2006

More bromeliads......

I guess these would be the cheaper Bromeliads as the colours are not so arresting. I`m no Brom expert though.

FOS

Got this from FOS when I purchased a shirt from them on Monday after shopping with a friend who wuz staying at Cititel....

A painful but necessary experience

Went to the office today but mid-morn, felt a horrible throbbing in my gums. My wisdom tooth was acting up again & I didn`t think that I could wait until the weekend. I called up my dental clinic in Mid-Valley & managed to get an appointment. It was a rather painful extraction of my upper wisdom tooth as the tooth itself was not in good condition & was `soft` hence a bit difficult to pull. It split into 4 parts when the good Doc pulled it out & 1 hour was needed to clean up my inner gums properly. Ouch. Had 2 days medical leave but I`m in pain. Thank God for pain killers.

More orchids...
