Life.............

Once again, the ill effects of not exercising for 2 weeks due to a bout of flu:getting sleepy spells, pimples on my forehead, feeling unusually hot when it isn`t really hot, grumpy……..aiyo. And feeling bloated & fat of course.

I`ll start again next week when there`s some normalcy in my life.

Aerobics !

A night with 2 kampong girls

You`d think there`d be more entertainment on tv rather than to focus on 2 `village` girls & their sad pathetic lives. One is from Kulai & the other Kuala Lipis.

Case 1

Girl gets jilted by famous bf singer who wasn`t famous when they became enganged. Girl wants to release her own music cd & tries to get cheap publicity for it by agreeing to appear in a spill-all programme. It works ! People actually do tune in to watch. Ina`s acting was so bad, it made me want to cry.

Case 2

Lavish wedding by our country`s no 1 kampong girl. It`s strange that she told her designers to go ahead & design her dresses with very little or hardly any input from her. Conclusion : she doesn`t trust her own taste or ideas. In the end, the dresses were decent but she looked out of place, like a bull in a china shop. It would have been better to have a small classy wedding in KL & then have a lavish spread in Kuala Lipis where all her friends, relatives, teachers etc are. I watched 5 minutes of this tragic event. Was it staged ? Was it real ? I dunno. My worse fears have been confirmed. She`s becoming more & more kampong every day.

Nasi briyani ayam for lunch

Some nice workmates went out to bungkus nasi briyani from my fav shop along Jln Silang today. Prefectly done rice, some kuah plus a choice of either ayam goreng or ayam madu . All for only rm4. The one is Bangi charges rm8-10. Another shop in Kampung Baru area charges the same but the taste is about the same. No pictures taken coz I ain`t get me camera & I`m too busy eating away......

It`s Friday.............

This was not an easy week for me as I had flu & couldn`t sleep well. Luckily it`s school holidays so traffic ain`t that bad in the mornings. Things to be thankful for I guess. The weird thing about this week is that it`s been raining very heavily in the evenings. Yesterday was particularly bad. A tree fell on a moving car in front of our Bank in jln tun razak. The lady driver was trapped for 2 hours but only sufferred minor injuries. It caused a major jam along the road. Major! I myself was trapped in a bad jam along jln pudu due to floods. After being on the road for almost 2 hours & not getting anywhere, I stopped to have mee goreng in Jln San Peng. I only reached home at 8:30pm. Dah lah kena flu, x cukup rest plak. Cis.

This weekend should be nice. A friend from Penang is in KL & I`ve promised to take him to the nurseries...plant nurseries I mean. He only swings by KL once or twice a year so I do take the trouble to see him when he`s here.

Things to do : haircut, go to the dentist, meet up with the Penang friend, exchange some vcds with a shah alam friend, pasar mlm tonite to buy fruits..........sleep sleep sleep.

Ralfie injured

After reading lots on the internet about the engines etc, I decided to tinker around & look around my car. Other than lotsa Japanese mumbo jumbo, I discovered the official colour of my car, 3JM....whassat ? And while playing around with the water spray jet nozzle thingy, it crumbled in my hands ! What laaa...after 9 years, it had biodegraded & was just waiting for someone to touch it lightly to cave in. The mechanic had to place an order for me. Sheesh. Said it was cheap tho. Whew. I`m not gonna tamper with the car anymore.

Monday morning

The weekend was a good one. Ate at Pizza Uno...my fav pizza Greek & had my fav drink there Sangria. Unfortunately I think I devoured the pizza when it was still too hot & as a result, I`ve got sorethroat today. Yuks.
Didn`t spend much other than the dinner. Shopping sprees at 1 Utama, Atria & Centerepoint came to zero. Happiness ! Hehehe.
I managed to get a copy of the PGL soundtrack from a friend. He bought it for rm35 at Istana Budaya. Funnily enough, it`s selling for rm31.90 at Victoria Music Station. Funnily enough 2, the main songs are not there ! Looks like we gotta buy another cd which they were selling the other day at Istana Budaya for rm12.

Lady in the water..........it`s not a mermaid.

Good show. Recommended. If you happen to one of the few people who can appreciate a well-written but slow paced show, this is probably it. No good looking actors or actresses, it relies heavily on the acting, script & storyline. Suspenseful, funny, intense, meaningful........need I say more ? Be warned, it`s a well-paced movie ( meaning slow )

Cutie Pie Airplant in bloom......

Got this a few weeks ago.......a friend had asked me to try & sell some airplants off but alas, only managed to sell off 3 plants out of the 20 he passed me. I`m not a good salesman lah, I`m better at giving things away for free. This airplant is a small 3 inch cutie pie, flowers easy & is pretty easy to care for.

Puteri Gunung Ledang - a musical treat

Hmmmmmm...where do I start ? Mebbe by saying `Loved it x 1000 times`. The evening started off very well when to our surprise, we were invited for a lovely buffet dinner before the show started. As we already had our makan, we just had some light dessert. But it was a nice touch. Quality food. About the musical : Hang Tuah was just so-so. Apart from his voice, Stephen was really nothing to shout about. Any actor who has been in an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical would have the same vocal prowess. In my opinion, that fella is a bit too fat to be prancing around & dancing, he just looks so bloody clumsy & out of place. His best performances were made when he was standing STILL. I dunno about the Malacca kingdom but that fella`s middle kingdom was pretty big.

AC Mizal was great as Gusti Adipati Handaya Ningrat. I also loved the actress who played Bayan, Gustri Putri`s nanny. Lovely voice, dancing & acting. Understated elegance. Power & grace. 1st season, the role was played by Sukania Venugopal, this time round it looked like an Indonesian actress.
Our seats were right in front of the stage. So when the actors came to the tip of the stage, they were almost breathing on us ! Awesome........
If you haven`t gone & are willing to fork out rm130 or more, go see it. Only the expensive tickets are still available.

Morning observations

Couples who are in the 20`s or 30`s are usually just quiet & not talking ( tired out from taking care of their young kids or too much sex ? )

Older couples are usually chatting a bit more ( they get enuff sleep )

If it`s a couple of same sex, they`ll usually be happily chatting as well ( friends maah )

If it`s a male Malay driver, the driver`s side window would be wound down to facilitate smoking ( Malays also care for their cars more, no aircon = better FC & less engine stress)

If`s it`s a somewhat middle aged male driver in a semi-posh / posh car, he`ll most probably already have his tie on ( ready for action as soon as he steps into the office )

Toyotas & Hondas are predominantly driven by Chinese ( but Malays are beginning to like Hondas as well, especially the Civic )

Chinese lady drivers are pretty aggressive nowadays ( i was going to say something rude about Chinese but nevermind, I`ll let it pass this time. E )

Laughed a lot then.....want to get a tshirt that says that ? i`ll scout around for a shop that does request prints.

Funny warning

I read the label behind & saw this....Not for consumption ! Makes sense to put it there coz the casing is pretty much like the breath strips casing. heheh.

Chirpy birds.....

There are crows in our housing estate. There are also pesky pigeons which my silly neighbour feeds. Unbeknowst to her, the droppings can be fatal to her kids if there are any bird flu viruses there. Silly woman. And then there are the Whitney Houstons of the bird world...I mean the Magpies of course. There is a pair of them which sing to each other in the mornings. One would perch a branch somewhere in my garden while the other would be a distance away & you can actually hear them mimicking each other`s `singing`. It`s lovely..and very loud. Haha, but it`s a sound I can live with coz it`s totally natural, inspiring & happy. I just found out that the name magpie is actually a shortform for Margaret`s Pie. Mmmmm.....

Door gifts.....

It`s becoming a yearly event now for me. My aunt`s old girls association annual dinner I mean. She is usually in charge of selling tickets & quite often her friends buy but at the last minute are unable to make it for one reason or another. So she`ll call me. Free food at a 5-star hotel ? Why not ? Considering I won a lucky draw for a free stay at Berjaya Langkawi last year, I felt that I owed it to meself to go again this year. Alas, no gifts won but the door gifts were pretty decent. These are some of the better ones.....The hairstyling strips are kinda interesting. I can`t spell the brand name but it`s some famous one lah from the salons.

One of my fav brands...GAP

Read some good news in the papers today. a GAP store is gonna open in KL real soon after Japan & Singapore. Wheeee....i usually get my `reject` GAP t`s from FOS...if you look at one of the labels, it says `Made for Kids`. heheh. And the other one is Extra Small....what I like about GAP is the quality of the cotton. In FOS, it retails for about rm19.90 to rm26.90 which I think is a pretty good deal.

Bluebells...the off-purple version

This flower`s colour changes accroding to the acid level of the soil. In a small pot , the flowers have appeared to be a different hue of purple. It looks like a panda bear`s face of sorts yah ? Some people grow it thick by putting a lot of plants together. Looks great when it flowers.

New bamboo orchid

Love this simple easy to care & easy to bloom wild orchid. It grows up to 5 feet high if it receives enough water, sun & fertiliser. In my garden, it`s only about 4 feet high. I`ve only had it for about 1 month & am quite confident that it`ll grow well in future. You usually see it growing by the roadside on the way to Genting or Camerons.

Ralfie...perfect again.

I wuz on mc on Tuesday. Had fever & wasn`t up to going to work. The car was at home & my Dad volunteered to send it to the spray shop to do some touch up. Yay. In 2 hours time & being rm80 poorer, Ralfie came back purrrfect. Initially he had paint scapped off from the side cladding & also the back bumper. All becoz of its careless owner....me ! I`ve now restored it to its former glory. I vow to reverse & drive extra carefully from now onwards.

Peace......

I love my weekends to be peaceful.....The only chance of it turning out otherwise is if / when the back neighbours start their screaming matches. It could either be between the dad & mom, or the dad & kids, or the kids & mom. The arguments could last for 2 hours, which it has twice before. Yuks, it`s basically kids & parents without discipline. Usually the sessions ends with doors slamming real hard ( sounds like thunder ) many many times. YUKS.

Chico at rest & play

I love to see Chico spread out like this when he`s asleep. It shows that he`s totally secure & at ease with us. His new snack is this leather-based chewy stuff which he holds between his paws & nibbles at until it`s finished. He hasn`t been well of late, getting a lot of stomach upsets & vomitting which is never a good sign. I`m just worried that it might be some bacteria infecting his sensitive tummy....

She sells seashells by the seashore....

Swung by this shop at Amcorp mall early Saturday morning hoping the beat the jams.....there`s a priceabuse shop located there. I reached the mall at 10:15 a.m. & noted with regret that the shop wasn`t open yet. So I had to amuse meself by visiting the flea market, zipping into Guardian, Watson`s etc...at about 11:30 a.m. , a small handwritten notice suddenly appeared on the aluminium shutters.....we are not open today & sunday. re-open on mon. bah. it`s the 2nd time it has happened....anyways, the seashells are for a friend who wanted to get them for his hermit crabs when they `move` house...quite pricey laa coz they`re mostly imported from maldives, etc.

More on Skinfood

The most cool item here is probably the enzyme exfoliation cream which cleans like nothing I`ve experienced before...and I`ve used a lot of products. I`ll probably call the company up & try to have a short interview with them. I`m making the effort to introduce the product to friends so I`d like to know a lil` more about it. So far so good. I`m impresssed with the product & of course the price. Goodbye Aesop, Metrin, Cellnique etc ? We`ll see......I got these products at Guardian IOI Mall. I also purchased my Cellnique gel. The so-called gift set which has a sebum remover gel, cleanser & moisture gel is still available for rm159. Last pack I think....
