Hi. Sorry I didn`t inform you that I have to leave for Bangkok next week. I do not know for how long but I will send you my new email & contact number when I arrive there & settle down. Hope to c u b4 I leave ? Sorry for the sudden notice but I have no choice. They have chosen me as their new..............................Thai Prime Minister !!!!

E. Got suckered by it....

Delicious home-made Green tea ice cream

During my 4 day stay at Boulevard, we had the luxury of shopping s-l-o-w-l-y in Mid Valley. I found this made-in-japan do-it-yourself-at-home dessert. I used to pay like rm5 for a small cup of it in Genki Sushi. Using this , I made quite a sizeable helping, enuff for 2 people to enjoy. Costs rm5.90 at Jayajusco Mid-Valley. Just add egg & milk.

Simple yummee.

Rare orchids.....

Here are 2 samples of the orchids found in the `other` orchid farm...Batu Arang Orchid farm. Nama not glam but the place IS nice....

The colour of one of the orchids is Mauve....cool.

Big plans on SATURDAY *wink*

I slept early on Friday nite after watching 1 in a million in anticipation of Sat`s activities.

Heheh.

An orchid buddy Rozzan & I were supposed to go to the Serendah International Orchid Farm in....where else...Serendah. We were also supposed to swing by Sg Chiling in Kuala Kubu Baru to do some river trekking. This was like, kira outstation trip laa coz it`s on the outskirts of Selangor maah.

Announcement : The Serendah Orchid farm is really pathetic.

Announcement 2 : We found another orchid farm in Batu Arang. Really good. It`s the opposite direction of Rawang town when you exit from the highway.

Announcement 3 : Sg Chiling was the same pristine place it always wuz. Found 2 unique plants there, a small tiny orchid which only has flowers protuding from the ground & another bright pink fungi...

It was a Saturday well spent.

Life in a boutique hotel

Am spending 4 lovely days at Boulevard Hotel, Mid-Valley courtesy of a friend who flew in from the land of the Hornbill for a IBBM course.

He asked me to bunk with him. I said Yes.

My only 2 grouses about the hotel is , that unlike Cititel, this hotel does not have its own parking lot. 2ndly, it hasn`t got free wifi in its rooms. They actually wanted rm30 from us after charging rm230 for the rooms. The cheek.

The view from the room is nice. Haven`t seen Old Klang Road from a bird`s eye view before. I can actually give traffic reports from my room for traffic heading to KL & to Old Klang Road & to Seremban highway. Awesome.

I hope to catch The Banquet this week. It`s in mandarin but I won`t hold that against it. Supposedly a good movie, I`ve got good vibes for this movie. For starters, it DOESN`T feature Nicholas Tse in it.

I`ve been having a lot of hawker food these few days. My Sabah friend loves trying out KL food. You should`ve seen him at SS2 foodcourt. Wow, that`s all can say about his appetite.

Going to work this morning was a cinch. Slight traffic jam. Took me all of 18 minutes to reach the office. Happiness.

A funny Tuesday...funny-weird I mean.

I went back straight home on Tuesday feeling very tired out, both mentally & physically. Just as I stepped into my house, a good friend called & said he wuz swinging over. Bummer ! Only coz I was tired, otherwise it`ll be fine. He swung by in about 10 minutes to see the garden & chat. I made him some passion fruit shake. He loved it. *smile*

In the midst of that, a neighbour I`ve never spoken to before, suddenly pops over to say Hi ! to me. I`m kinda like in a drunken stupor then coz I wuz so sleepy but still layan. She asked me if she wanted her car`s shock absorbers. Eh ? Dreaming or whaat ? I heard myself mumbling yes & followed her to her house 4 doors away. I came home with a pair of semi-new shock absorbers ! Apparently, she just sold off her 95 Rav4 for rm32k & she still had this almost new shocks lying around the house. So nice of her....Irene`s the name.

I just checked Toyota`s website...it retails for about USD59 per unit.....

Another nice bloom.........

I`m not being too fair here coz the buds were already formed when I bought the plant from Camerons but well.....I still love the colour of this wild orchid. It`s common name is bamboo orchid......

Yumeeee shake

My cousin also just spent 5 days at Camerons. She was bored stiff but it was a company trip i.e. free lodging at a swanky place, free meals etc. She was nice enuff to call me before she left the place & asked if I wanted anything......I was sleepy & just muttered `passion fruit`...She got me rm10 worth which was about 70 fruits. Uh oh. That`s like about 60 fruits too many. Haha. Anyway, her mum, my auntie, got creative in the kitchen & whipped up a new drink : passion fruit plus banana plus crushed ice......a yumeee nutrition filled shake.Serious !

Paris Hilton

2 weeks ago a friend mentioned that the new Paris Hilton songs ` Stars are blind` was pretty catchy. I haven`t even heard it on the radio. Then I read a review which went like this : `We had already prepared a lot of negative comments for her album even before listening to it. I mean, after all, it IS Paris Hilton...but when we finally heard her cd, it was actually pretty good !`

I finally managed to get a copy of it last nite. It`s good & quite a nice surprise. Some one said she sounded like Nelly Furtado, another thot it was Britney. My fav track there is `Turn it on`...fab DANCE number.

Overhead restaurant

They have some lovely shops in the overhead restaurant in Sg Buloh along the North South highway. I`m not used to stopping there for too long as there`s always some fruits, plants or flowers in the car which needed to be protected from the blazing KL sun. This time round, the weather was gloomy & temp was cool. We decided to have dinner there. Hey, got satay kajang ! The sticks of satay were good but the staff manning the place ALL seem to HATE customers. Dour sulky looks & they move like snails....in slow motion!

Couldn`t resist a shot of Ralfie in the parking lot. She performed fabulously throughout the whole journey. Tight corners were negotiated beautifully. Now I finally understand what they have been saying about RAV4`s being very very `stable` vehicles. It was her 1st drive outstation since I bought her over from the 1st owner. I will never drive a proton or a perodua again. *wink*

Richard & me.....

This is the Sabah chappie / friend who flew in all the way from KK to see me. We met 7 years ago when I was in KK to climb that mountain. Have kept in touch since then but have not met up. It was a nice gesture soI offerred to take him sightseeing in KL & also to the hills. It was fun showing Richard my fav places...especially Putrajaya at nite. He still looks the same, I guess Sabah air must have some anti-aging properties ? Sigh.

New bus station at Camerons

The place looks more or less the same from the last time I visited except for this building. It` s a new multi-level carpark......I think i read somewhere that it`s not really used coz of the narrow lanes & small parking lots.

As usual, as soon as I reached Camerons, i went straight to book the room at the local B & B...we got one for rm45....2 double beds ! what laa....we only need 2 single beds...this time round, the hot water was not limited to how much water was stored in the water tank. I remembered screaming when I got hit by a blast of icy cold water in the midst of showering last time. Brrrr......

The pasar malam has been moved from Brinchang town itself to a lil` higher up, near some Government flats otw to Equatorial hotel. It`s much bigger than before but basically sells the same stuff....fresh flowers, fruits, strawberries, foodstuff, cactus.....new things to me were the crunchy fried vegetables & mushroom plus the dried strawberries. Yummeee.

The best thing to buy & eat there is the jagung. They have this special corn which basically can be eaten raw.....the corn itself is white/yellow in colour & there are 3 grades...it`s either 3/4/5 for rm10. Very sweet.

Another place to try is the T-shop which basically sells scrumptious food. I love the scones there...rm2.30 each, baked fresh everyday, served with home-made strawberry jam. It is next to Marrybown. Take the small creaky staircase up.

Mardi at Camerons.............

The last 2 trips to Camerons, I couldn`t find where this place was. This time round, I managed to get directions. It`s actually in Tanah Rata, opposite the local hospital. They have a pretty nice display of unusual flowers. But the highlight of the place to me is the herbs patch. Here are some photos...there`s thyme, etc. I dunno what the one with round flowers are coz there`s no label .
