My new handphone..........

It`s been 3 l-o-ng years since I bought a HP. The basic sony ericsson clamshell which I bought for rm700 in 2003 has lasted longer than its welcome. I`m now yearning for a more advanced phone. This seems to fit the current bill...it`s got EDGE capabilites, walkman enabled, additional 256MB memory stick bundled in, 4x zoom camera, MMS, speakerphone etc. All the features my old handphone DID not have. *smile* wink* happiness* ...all for rm999 at the sony ericsson counters. Will be going to get it later today from KLCC.

The newest RAV4.....2007...it`s a monster vehicle

My dream car.......

These are some models which I`m fantasizing about....even though it looks new, it`s actually a 2003 model....

Tesco wine

It`s funnee. When I was in wine section of tesco puchong, the only 2 couples there were malay. I swear ! They were speaking to their wives in distinct m`sian malay & hey, i can tell the difference. Way cool.....I got this for meself. Not too bad for rm39 but might be too bland & safe for some others. It`s from Spain, nice blend of merlot & cabernet.

Salad with mayo &..........

My system yearned for some fresh vegetables & I got this salad mix from Tesco. Since I had some serunding at home, I thot i`d top the salad up with it. Just yummee. The flowers tasted a lil` funny, I think I used to plant them in my garden.

Snacks from tesco

Got this at the near-expiry section of Tesco. The choc bars were going for only rm1.65 & the potato snacks were at rm2.90. The chocs weren`t too good oredi but the crackers were still fine....it ain`t like Marks & Spencer`s i guess. Coz their near expiry stuff still tastes great.

Mushrooms are so tasty

When I get bored, I get a little inventive. In this case, I just copycat lah. Tasted this in Camerons before so thot i`d try it myself.....fresh grey mushrooms were cheap at rm1.69 for a bundle. Whipped them up with some Bisquick flour ( we didn`t have any other in the house, some crunchier one would have been nicer ) & then deep fried it. Yummeee. The road leading towards sorethroat valley has begun.

Kids

This is a married frenz account on his married life & kids :

  • you or your wife get really fat, either from the accumulated fats during pregnancy or due to lack of exercise thereafter
  • financially unstable especially when you have unplanned kids
  • health deteriorates when you sacrifice sleep, vitamins, nutrition for your wailing kids
  • fighting with spouse over small issues due to fatigue, stress, money problems which might lead to depression or the other `D` word
  • forget about punctuality or being on time for anything anymore
  • the house smells from puke or waste products...constantly
  • if u think its bad when the kids are little, wait until the hormons kick in & they become teenagers
  • you avoid people who don`t like your kids, people who don`t like your kids avoid you
  • all you talk about anymore to your husband or frenz or officemates are on your kids...what they said, what they did etc...more people avoid you.
  • movies are a thing of the past except for pirated vcds & dvds, if you are lucky enuff to have time / energy to watch them
  • life basically sucks, sometimes you just want to give up but you can`t.

Monday Morning ......

Good morning folks.....another week at work. More like another `weak`....

The good thing....we are having so many dayz off next week.

The bad thing...i`ll be working like hell this week & after the holidays as staff go on their festive leave.

Went for a frenz wedding on Saturday nite. It was a low key affair & held at a neighbourhood restaurant. Initially not knowing anyone, we soon warmed up to each other during dinner & actually had a lovely evening.

Finished watching the Lakehouse. Mmmm.....nice movie, pity about the i-can`t-believe-it ending. Sandra & Keanu make a good couple.

Made wade` from the powder I bought at Cold Storage. Was nice, but need to add in fresh green chilli next time as suggested by the pack. Great for teatime.

Went for 2 blind dates, I think they are more keen in the car than me. Whatever works for them.

Bad storm on sunday evening, it blew a huge pot off a wall into my neighbours agrden where it crashed. Drama nyerrrr.

Washed the car 4 times, haha, more to clean the rainwater off it.

Have a nice week ahead.........

Watch Out !

It`s that time of the year again when you get policemen lurking in all corners of the highways etc looking for folks to issue summons to for the simplest traffic infringement. When I drove out to Pj on Tuesday, I was surprised to see policemen in Bandar Kinrara Puchong...they were hiding shamelessly around the traffic lights & another bunch of them around a U-turn. While in another area of Puchong, someone could be mugged or raped.

Mat Rempits

I note with glee & a bit of alarm that they are trying to domesticate Mat Rempits. Sunday`s paper stated that they have recruited about 2000 over ( can`t recall the exact number ) and that they were organising dodol making & cleaning of the grave sites activities for them. What`s next I wonder ? Knitting classes ?

A short life..........

Here`s a nifty on my wish-list handphone which unfortunately belongs to someone else. Worse still it`s spoilt...got waterlogged on a recent river expedition, it`s only 5 months young. I`m sending it for repair thru a fren, hoping to pass it for a minor spilt drink incident since it is still under warranty. Love the phone functions, my only complaint is that we gotta twist/ swivel the thing to use it, much better if it could slide up.

Cinema time at Mid-Valley...The Banquet

Watched this at Mid-Valley last week with some frenz. It was an artistic chinese-style potrayal of Hamlet, very nicely done. Couldn`t appreciate the mandarin though. Also managed to catch Devil wears prada on dvd, good entertaining movie. I wonder why Meryl Streep is now taking on lighthearted roles in her golden years....

Free gift

Got this when a fren belanja me makan at A & W...he wasn`t fasting that day & asked me to sneak him out to a makan place near my house. Since he looks chinese, I just chose A & W....o questions asked there at my neighbourhood outlet. I got this cute wrist band, love the quality & light feel. When i wear it, I gotta cover the A & W logo though. heheh.

Christmas came early to Bandar Kinrara

The hot weather seems to be encouraging blooms for this type of airplant. The 2 bunches of plants I have are both ( the pics are of 2 different plants although I know they look the same ) shooting off blooms at the moment. I wish they would have waited until Christmas though. It would have been so appropriate then. *wink*

Toyota manual says.........

Does your vehicle need repairing ?

Be on the alert for changes in performance, sounds & visual tip-offs that indicate that service is needed. Some important clues are as follows :

- engine missing, pinging or stumbling
-appreciable loss of power

Eh, engine missing ?

How to change to suit your surroundings

Sometimes we are plucked from our comfort zones & place into new duties or relationships or places. We either sink or swim then. This plant changes the size of its leaves & colour according to where it is. Originally from the jungle, it`s ability to accomodate weather, water level, sunlite intensity & temperature is amazing... i think it`s secret is its innate determination to survive no matter what.....

What if we come back from the office tired out from work & we are greeted by screaming kids & a screeching wife ?

What if instead of the peace & quiet you yearn for, you are forced to babysit while you wife goes out shopping ?

What if instead of allowing you some time to pursue your hobbies, she threatens or tongue whips you into submission & stay-at-home-to-be-with-me instead ?

It`s happening to some friends i know & it`s manifesting itself in some pretty ugly ways in the relationships........

2 dayz training at Bangi...Corporate Core values.

What did I learn ? The most important thing which stuck like glue was how vital it was for ALL departments within an organisation to know what each other wuz doing. And to have the same goals & values i.e customer service, profit, respect etc.....for example 2 of Disneyland`s work mottos is cleanliness & family entertainment. It seems that ALL staff irregardless of rank will pick rubbish up when they see it to ensure that the place is spick & span. Also Toyota`s motto was to be the best car maker in the world. *BigSmile*...Ralfie....

Our group, lead by me, took control of a point-for-answer game which was on for the duration of the 2 days. We volunteered answers as much as we could & the small prize ( photo holder ) we got was only a token of the satisfaction obtained from beating the other teams. I named our team IQ Zero coz I knew we were the opposite....

Ikea display unit buy

I took a day off last week as my back was giving problems.....swung by Ikea to get a friend something. I also make it a point to look-see the `As is` section where they sell off their display items. Found this 6-feet high cupboard & after trying it out for a bit, decided that it was still a good buy at rm137. I had to carry the whole thing to the car on my own without the trolly as I didn`t want to lose my parking spot. It was a good workout. Lucky my car seats are reclineable & my boot is the exposed type. It needed all the space my car had. It`s now happily sitting in my already congested room....satisfied.....still trying to load in as many things as I can into it...
